McLean Named WMBL POTW

Jayse McLean was a big part of the Moose Jaw Miller Express' turnaround over the weekend and he was honoured on Monday by the Western Major Baseball League.

The rookie outfielder was named the WMBL's Player of the Week after hitting .455 in six games last week.

McLean added one home run, eight RBI and three doubles, while also playing error-free baseball in centre field.

He's currently second on the team in batting average, tied for first in doubles with three and first in RBI with ten. He also has seven runs scored and four walks on the year.

After losing their first three games of the week, the Millers bounced back to go 2-1 on a three-game homestand over the weekend, which snapped a seven-game losing skid.

They open up another busy week on Tuesday when they travel to Melville to take on the Millionaires in the first of six games over the next six nights. Moose Jaw is 2-0 against Melville this season, including an 11-8 win at Ross Wells Park on Saturday.

Moose Jaw's next home game is on Wednesday when Regina comes to town
