The Moose Jaw Miller Express opened up the final week of the regular season with a hard fought win in Melville on Tuesday night.

Catcher Ty Barclay hit a run-scoring single in the 12th inning to lift the Millers past the Millionaires, 8-7, at Pirie Field. The win improves the Millers' record to 21-22 on the year.

Moose Jaw started the game strong, building up a 5-1 lead after five innings, but Melville fought back to move in front 7-6 heading into the ninth inning.

Millers outfielder Brooks Benson continued his hot stretch with a solo home run in the ninth inning that sent the game to extra innings. It was Benson's second straight game with a homer and third in the past five games.

The Millers put a runner in scoring position in the tenth, but couldn't cash him in.

In the 12th, third baseman John Prudhom led off with a walk and the Millers didn't waste the opportunity. First baseman Markus Gregson -- who finished 3-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI -- followed it up with a single; Barclay smacked another single right after that to score Prudhom and give Moose Jaw the lead.

Logan Hoffman sat down the Millionaires in order in the bottom of the 12th to seal the win. He struck out two over 1 2/3 shutout innings to pick-up the win on the mound.

It was a back-and-forth duel between the two starters for the first seven innings.

Mitchell Robinson started for the Millers, allowing six runs -- five earned -- on eight hits over 7 1/3 innings. He struck out nine and walked one in the no-decision.

Melville starter Lyle Hibbitts allowed five runs -- three earned -- on seven hits in seven innings of work. He struck out seven and walked one.

Coming out of the bullpen for Moose Jaw, Travis Edgar allowed one run on one hit with a walk and a strikeout in 2/3 of an inning.

Tannar Galey did a great job out of the pen to keep the Millionaires in check after the eighth inning. He threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings, striking out two and walking two.

The Millers will continue their five-game road trip as they venture to Yorkton on Wednesday to face the Cardinals at 7 p.m. at Jubilee Park.
